One of the chief advantages of HOBLink JWT is that no additional server component is required for communication between the client and the server. This is because communication with the Microsoft operating system is based on the RDP protocol, and this is the reason why small and medium-sized organizations can benefit from the Windows Terminal Servers. For large organizations a number of additional features are required that are not supported by the RDP protocol. Additional server components may be required to provide these features.
These server functions have been grouped under the term Enhanced Terminal Services and and True Windows include components such as Application Publishing and Load Balancing. The server components are available as MMC (Microsoft Management Console) Snap-Ins, which can be also used for configuration.
