HOB WebSecureProxy (WSP)

A server proxy is required for secure access over the Internet to a terminal server farm. With the HOB WebSecureProxy (WSP) HOB provides a 3-tier solution.  The HOBLink JWT client is connected to the server farm by means of the HOB WSP over a secure SSL connection.

HOB WSP must be located in the DMZ (demilitarized zone) between two firewalls. It forwards the data related to load balancing, SSL encryption and application publishing to the RDP clients on one side and to the Windows Terminal Servers on the other side. This three-tier solution significantly adds to both the security and functionality of the Windows Terminals Servers, as they remain protected by two firewalls from the Internet, while load balancing, encryption and application publishing can be used.

Requirements

• The HOBLink Secure software package must be installed on the client (or on the Web server with the client program installed on the Web server to be downloaded as an applet).
• The HOB WebSecureProxy software must be installed on one or more computers in the DMZ.
• Installed firewalls must be tested for integrity before installation.
