Select the entry Connection from the left pane of the configuration window of the Session Editor to display the tabs for the connection configuration.
This displays the tabs for the connection configuration.
Depending on the currently selected Connection Type the Load Balancing and HOB WSP tabs may not be available.
The client is connected directly to the specified terminal server or (when using HOB RD VPN) over HOB WSP.
If HOBLink JWT is not loaded from the HOB RD VPN Server, you are connected directly to the terminal server. Configure the settings in the Server tab. This connection type should be used in intranets only.
If HOBLink JWT is loaded from the HOB RD VPN server, the connection happens over the HOB WSP. In this case configure the settings in the WSP server in case of HOB RD VPN tab.

This option does not use Load Balancing. |
The user selects the Terminal server to use on the startup of each session. In this case the Startup Settings dialog prompts users to specify the desired server from the list of configured servers.
Enter the IP address or the host name of the terminal server you want connect to with the client.
Enter the number of the TCP Port to be used for this connection.
The user chooses the server name when connecting.
Select the Server Name from the HOB WSP server list. The administrator of the HOB WSP server must configure an entry with this name in the WSP server list.
Instead of giving the user access to all terminal servers, access can be limited to a particular subset of servers that have the applications you want to make available. Do this by creating various session configurations with individual lists of selected servers from your network. Then make a particular configuration (server list) available to certain users, user groups, departments, etc. Each user or user group can access only those servers in the list assigned to them by the administrator.
You can configure servers using the Load Balancing tab.
If HOBLink JWT loads from the HOB RD VPN server, then the Server Name from the WSP Server in case of HOB RD VPN tab is used for the connection.
The user chooses the server name when connecting.
Select the Server Name from the HOB WSP server list. The administrator of the HOB WSP server must configure an entry with this name in the WSP server list.
Select this connection mode with HOB WebSecureProxy to obtain a secure connection over the Internet.
You can create new lists or edit existing lists of Servers with HOB WebSecureProxy installed by using the Add, Edit or Delete buttons.
Creating a list in this way avoids potential Server failures and increases fail safety. This security measure ensures smooth operation without interruptions.
This connection type uses SSL/TLS security.

Select this connection mode with HOB WebSecureProxy and its Load Balancing function to obtain a secure connection over the Internet. The respective WSP ensures an equally balanced load on the available servers employing the Load Balancing settings made on the HOB WSP tab. With this connection type the target server is chosen at runtime.

Select this connection mode with the Socks Mode of HOB WebSecureProxy and its Load Balancing function to obtain a secure connection over the Internet. The advantage of the Socks Mode is that all connections are implemented over one single, configurable port. In this mode the client informs HOB WebSecureProxy about the target to which HOB WSP is to re-route the connection).

The respective WSP makes sure the load on the available servers is equally balanced, employing the Load Balancing settings made on the HOB WSP tab. The settings on this tab also determine whether the target can be dynamically selected during the connection setup or if a static target is used instead.
