Requirements for SSL/TLS Security

Enable the option "Use SSL/TLS Security" in the Connection scheme only if HOBLink Secure, which is required for SSL/TLS, has been registered (subject to additional charge). If this option is enabled without having first installed and configured HOBLink Secure, no connection can be made.

You can obtain further information about this software from our HOB Offices.

First configure the corresponding settings with the HOBLink Security Manager. You can find additional details in the Online Help for the HOBLink Security Manager.

Then copy the following files (also referred to as the HLSecurity Units) created by the HOBLink Security Manager:

Depending on the type of installation made, copy these files to the appropriate path described in the sections below.

If the password file (hclient.pwd) is not copied into the correct folder, you will be prompted automatically to enter your password when the connection setup is made for HOBLink Secure.

SSL path for a local installation of HOBLink JWT

 

With the VM provided by HOB (SUN 1.3) and other VMs provided by SUN, copy the files to:

UNIX / Linux, MacOS X:

Copy the files to the User home directory (can be retrieved using "echo $HOME").

SSL path for a server installation of HOBLink JWT

Certificates can be stored either in the installation directory of the Web server (for download via HTTPS) or locally on the client. For the local option the storage location is always the VM-dependent user home directory of the browser being used.
